Christine Price | Soprano | CO-WY District – 2016

Soprano Christine Price, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a second year Master of Music candidate in Vocal Performance at The Juilliard School. In 2014-2015, Ms. Price sang in Juilliard’s Songfest at Alice Tully Hall, curated by Marcus Institute and artistic director and pianist Brian Zeger, featuring music set to the texts of Charles Baudelaire. Ms. Price sang the role Lucia in The Juilliard School’s production of Britten´s The Rape of Lucretia. She was a featured soloist with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida, conducted by Joseph Peters and directed by Mary Birnbaum, singing Argento’s Six Elizabethan Songs. Ms. Price sang Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the New York Philharmonic, Young People’s Concert in Avery Fischer Hall, with Courtney Lewis conducting. Ms. Price was a guest artist singing Anne Trulove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress in a Masterclass with the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera featuring Renata Scotto. During the summer, Ms. Price was a studio artist at Wolf Trap Opera performing Lucien in Corgliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles and served as the cover for Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Ms. Price received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where her roles included Calisto in the Manhattan Summer Voice Festival Production of Cavalli’s La Calisto, and the title role in the Manhattan School of Music Senior Opera production of La Doriclea. She made her Alice Tully Hall debut in November 2012 as soloist of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the Juilliard pre-college orchestra conducted by Adam Glaser. Ms. Price is a graduate of the Juilliard Pre-College Division. In the 2013-2014 season, she was the recipient of a district Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Ms. Price studies voice at Juilliard with Edith Wiens.
