Each year the auditions enable the finest young operatic talent to compete for awards. The Rocky Mountain Regional winner then has the opportunity to compete on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City for a national award. Your annual Patron Membership provides the Colorado-Wyoming District and Regional Awards and helps defray audition costs. We pay award money, hall rental and staff, and judges’ expenses (they donate their time). Your donations mean we can support our wonderful young singers. Named Competition Prizes Available

Several people and organizations have sponsored prizes at both the CO/WY District and Rocky Mountain Region levels.
We call these “Named Prizes,” such as the $2000 Spencer Foundation Award and the Arthur and Miriam Bender Memorial Award. These can be for a wide range of amounts, as little as $150.
We would like you to consider honoring a loved one or having your organization sponsor one of our many prizes for the next Met Competition! If you wish to honor a loved one who loved opera, this is a way to enshrine their names and memories in a way that will help ensure the future of opera in America.
The Marcia Ragonetti award at last Saturday’s district competition for the Met Opera went to Colin Mills. We still have named awards available for many of the auditioners. The Rocky Mountain Region finals are this Saturday at 1:30 at Calvary Baptist Church right here in Denver. Hear incredibly talented Young Artists from our multistate region and beyond!
